Surprize3 is the third edition of an exhibition and prize awarded by a distinguished jury, led by the Accademia di Belle Arti in Urbino, the Fondazione Pescheria, and the Assessorato alla Bellezza of Pesaro. The exhibition was curated by Umberto Palestini with Semyon Mikailovsky, Nicky Coutts, Adam Kaasa.

The event offers a valuable opportunity to compare different international educational models, thanks to collaborations with leading institutions from Greece and Turkey, and, for this edition, also the Royal College of Art in London and the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Research and University, the exhibition aims to be a significant platform for launching the careers of young artists. It seeks to foster connections that extend beyond European borders, encouraging an open dialogue on methodologies and the many diverse languages of contemporary art.

From ‘Frames of Love, or Love’s Perspective’ (2018)

‘Love’s perspective might be a window into someone’s life. Or perhaps it is more like a signal that one sees and likes and recognizes what another or other put/s forward as a framed structure of their feeling of life.’
- Adam Kaasa
From ‘Feeling Bodies of Architecture: Towards an Incommensurable Pedagogy’ (2023)

‘Space, time, energy must be made for the bodies of architecture to be present in this new pedagogic performance, for feeling in both senses of the word to happen, for bodies that have moved to be moved again, by and through each other.’
- Adam Kaasa
